Top 10 Poker Players of All Time

Many online casino players have asked themselves the same question. Who’s the greatest poker player of all time? Well, by considering a number of aspects it was concluded that Phil Hellmuth is the greatest of all time. But there are nine others who could dethrone him.

10th – Justin Bonomo 

Bonomo is the youngest of the 10 on this list at 34 years old, but he already has $49 million in career earnings. His most notable results are the Super High Roller Bowl and two WSOP bracelets. 

9th – Johnny Chan 

Although it was a different era, prior to the big poker boom of 2003, Chan won two consecutive WSOP Main Events and also took third place. That plus all his subsequent accomplishments earned him the 9th spot.

8th – Doyle Brunson

It’s odd to see Brunson so low on this list, but Texas Dolly was at his best when poker wasn’t what it is today, a multi-million dollar enterprise. His 10 WSOP bracelets, two of them back-to-back Main Events (1976-1977), and all his other ITMs give him his well-deserved position.

7th – John Juanda 

In the 1990s, Juanda was a virtually unstoppable player. He won 5 WSOP bracelets, reached 7 WPT final tables and had over $25 million in tournament earnings. Among other ITM’s, under this magnifying glass he’s our number 7.

6th – Chris Ferguson 

In 2000 he won the World Series Main Event, one of his 6 bracelets, and cashed a total of 140 times. He reached the WPT final table twice, but after Black Friday his name was tarnished. All of his ITMs earned him sixth place on this list.

5th – Michael Mizrachi 

There was a time when Michael would make every major final table there was. The Grinder is the only multiple WSOP Poker Players Championship champion with three wins. He also has five WSOP bracelets, two WPT titles and $17 million in earnings which puts him in the middle of this list on spot number 5.

4th – Phil Ivey 

Poker legend, Ivey won 10 WSOP bracelets. At 38, he was the youngest player to reach double digits. In 2017, Ivey was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame thanks to his achievements, which earned him almost the bronze medal on our list.

3rd – Erik Seidel 

Seidel, one of the world’s most humble players, has been winning tournaments for 30 years. He has more than 37 million in cashes to his credit, 114 ITM’s at the WSOP, among others, which gave him the third place.

2nd – Daniel Negreanu 

The Canadian has been making waves in the poker world for 20 years. KidPoker has 6 WSOP bracelets, two Player of the Year titles, 131 ITM’s at the WSOP, among other achievements that gave him the silver medal as best poker player.

1st – Phil Hellmuth 

Hated or loved, but no one doubts Hellmuth’s tournament results throughout his 30-year career. With 15 WSOP bracelets and 151 ITM’s in this series, five WPT final tables, and more. Phil Hellmuth is the absolute winner on our list and one of the world’s biggest contributions to poker!
